Just a quick update

Hi all, it's been some time, hasn't it? I know I've had planned a lot for this year, so how am I progressing?

Well firstly I'm not posting enough blogs, I've been quiet on Instagram and nonexistent on Twitter. So not off to a great start! The reason has been due to my wedding coming soon, so I've shifted my focus, as the uncertainty of numbers and the size of the occasion still shadows the big day. We have all been working hard to try and manage the day to the best of our abilities. In turn, social media and blogging have taken a big hit. Most likely this will continue as we come closer to the big day, consistent updates will be in the form of a post or two per month.

The issue is I have many blog post still unfinished. So the goal for the next couple of weeks will be to grind these out as soon as possible.

So what about my objectives? So in a past post, I outlined my goals for this year, which is to increase my current knowledge of React and Redux and build an understanding of Swift App development. In my current field of work, I am regularly exposed to React and slowly progressing with Redux. My idea is still to refactor this site with Redux but this project will likely be some time at the end of the year. I don't see this being a big project and will most likely take up to a month to complete. React is still a big part of my life and this will always be the case.

So, Swift, I have been revising my old notes and revisiting tutorials on the iOS app development. This has been progressing well and I am starting to feel more comfortable with the programming language, getting used to X Code and understanding the core principles of UIKit. If I get the chance, I'll try my hand out in SwiftUI. Although, the idea is to learn these principles and then slowly transition. Learning Swift has been a consistent process each week which I have been happy to have found the time.

So I am planning on building two mobile applications this year, which will be both for the iPhone and the Apple Watch. I will document my process but I am likely to build the first using Google Firebase. While building the other app that will be closely related to this blog. That's two actual apps! Haha hopefully, all goes as planned. But do not hold me to this as my weekends will get busier and busier until August.

Finally, there will be some changes to my setup. I'm moving! Well moving rooms, so that will be a change of scenery.
